Bengaluru, March 27: Infosys has made a major global move by acquiring two US-based companies for $560 million, including healthcare consulting firm Optimum Healthcare IT.
This deal shows one clear signal — Infosys is going all-in on AI and healthcare technology.
The company plans to combine its AI platform Topaz and cloud platform Cobalt with Optimum’s healthcare expertise. The goal is simple: help hospitals and healthcare providers move faster towards AI-driven systems and cloud-based operations.
This acquisition will also strengthen Infosys’ presence in the US healthcare market, where demand for digital transformation is growing rapidly. With new clients and deeper capabilities, Infosys is now targeting large-scale healthcare modernization projects.
Infosys CEO Salil Parekh said the deal will help deliver faster and more practical transformation for healthcare companies using data, AI, and cloud technology.
The deal is expected to close by early FY2027, pending approvals.
What makes this important is not just the acquisition size, but the direction. Infosys is clearly positioning itself at the center of AI-powered healthcare transformation, one of the fastest-growing tech sectors globally.
